We are experts in conservation and heritage joinery within period properties.
The work in architecturally important buildings is strictly regulated, and rightly so.
At Buscott Woodworking our craftsmen have extensive experience working on a variety of period properties in all manners of conservation projects and listed buildings.
Our focus is always on preservation - wherever possible retaining, repairing and restoring the original features.
Where important elements are missing or damaged beyond repair, we can create mouldings, carvings and profiles that exactly replicate the original timber.
By using traditional, time-honoured techniques, and working with organisations like English Heritage, our experienced craftsmen sympathetically restore heritage joinery to its former glory.
Period Timber Framed Windows
One of our most common heritage joinery projects is period window replacement.
When restoring a listed building, or a property in a conservation area, you have to preserve the original façade.
But this doesn’t mean that you have to compromise on energy efficiency, maintenance or performance.
At Buscott we combine traditional methods with modern technology.
Our sash and casement windows precisely match the glazing bars, mouldings and proportions of the original windows. We then incorporate Slimlite heritage double glazed units.
All of our windows are made-to measure and can be constructed in a variety of traditional timbers or Accoya, a revolutionary sustainable acetylated wood that is guaranteed for 50 years with minimal maintenance.
We have the expertise and experience to make sure you comply with regulations, keep the conservation officer happy and your heating bills down.
